Local History Publications
The local area around our library is rich in a complex history shaped largely by maritime manufacturing and the growth of the white-gold ivory industry, including the ties of local factories to Zanzibar. But the area’s unique history has also been remarkably well-documented by local historians Don Malcarne and others in publications that include photographs and maps. Contact the library to inquire.
